About us
Fortuna Community brings people, organisations and resources together to build inclusive and sustainable communities in Ireland. We create opportunities for social integration, education, economic independence, cultural exchange and community initiatives.

Our mission
Fortuna Community's mission is to unlock human potential, strengthen social ties and create new opportunities for people and communities. We bring together people of different cultures, generations and professions and help them overcome social, language and economic barriers, gain new knowledge, build professional skills and carry out their own initiatives. Through education, enterprise, cultural exchange, social innovation and partnership, we work towards an open, inclusive and sustainable society in which everyone can receive support and also contribute to the common good.
Our vision
We see an Ireland where cultural diversity is a source of strength, everyone has opportunities to develop, and active communities take part in creating social and economic change. Fortuna Community aims to become a lasting platform for community initiatives, connecting people, business, educational institutions, community organisations and public bodies in projects with a long-term social effect.
How we work
We follow a chain: community needs → engaging people → skills and knowledge → projects → measuring results. People come to meetings, find each other, learn and take on shared work; projects grow out of that work, and we assess and publish the results of each project (see Impact and results).
From participant to leader
We build an environment where getting to know people can grow into taking part, taking part into new skills and cooperation, and cooperation into a community initiative of your own. Each person chooses their own path and level of involvement.
This is a working model, not a measured result. More: Impact and results.

Who we work for
Among Fortuna Community's participants are people who have faced forced migration, language and professional barriers, social isolation and the need to adapt to new circumstances. Our programmes aim to widen their opportunities, strengthen social ties, build skills and increase independence.
Since March 2025 the community's events have drawn more than 200 participations, by the organisers' estimate. The doors are open to everyone: we are not only a Ukrainian organisation, but for many participants we are the first foothold in a new country. We pay particular attention to people with professional and creative experience who meet language barriers, difficulty having qualifications recognised, limited access to professional networks and limited opportunities to use their skills.
